The Greenway Foundation are a group of passionate stewards who care for the South Platte River, its tributaries, and the people who live, work, and play along its banks.

They are a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since 1974, they have been leading efforts to reclaim the South Platte River and its tributaries from a virtual cesspool to a place of environmental and recreational pride.

Greenway History

The river has been the heart of Denver since before we were Denver. Denver's waterway weaves through the city and through our history, forever linked with our fortunes and our future.
